Ophthalmology

Jerarsi Clinic operates an ophthalmology department under the leadership of experienced ophthalmologist Mikheil Kurtanidze.

Our office is equipped with modern equipment necessary for comprehensive ophthalmological examination. Our team serves patients of all ages, offering both outpatient treatment and surgical intervention when necessary.

We perform:

  • Cataract and glaucoma surgeries of any complexity using modern methods;
  • Surgical interventions of the eye and eyelids;
  • Restoration of lacrimal duct patency using the least invasive and most modern approach — transnasal dacryocystorhinostomy using diode laser.
Examination methods:
Visometry

Visual acuity assessment procedure using special charts.

this is Vision Subjective examination method and does not always not correspond to objective data, especially in pediatric age patients which is why we use a whole whole range of objective examination methods.

Examines the eye’s refraction, that is the eye’s optical system ability to refract light rays and and focus them focusing on the retina surface.

Using refractometry we determine the type of refraction and and its such disorders as myopia, hypermetropia and and astigmatism.

Determination of corneal refractive and power and radius determination. Enables us to determine the degree of astigmatism and and its cause whether corneal or other other optical areas. Perform keratoconus diagnosis.

Intraocular Blood Pressure pressure measurement using portable iCare tonometer.This is is a fast and and painless intraocular Blood Pressure pressure measurement method, which does not require anesthesia, does not damage the cornea and and is so fast and and painless that it can be freely used even in children as well.

Examination Various of the anterior segment using slit lamp illumination. Biomicroscopy enables detailed detailed examination of the conjunctiva, cornea surface, anterior anterior chamber, iris surface, pupil opening, crystalline lens.

Using additional lenses the retina and anterior chamber angle are also examined.

Anterior chamber and Anterior chamber angle examination using special gonioscopy lens and and slit lamp illumination. This enables determination of glaucoma type and as well as other anatomical or tumor pathologies presence.

Fundus fundus examination using ophthalmoscope and and special lenses illumination. Enables assessment assessment of retinal surface, optic nerve and and retinal Vascular condition.

Ultrasound examination ultrasound examination, A and B scanning. This enables us to measure eyeball eyeball length, anterior chamber depth, pupil thickness, crystalline lens size and and condition. This procedure is performed any before operation eye and surgery and is particularly important in cases of transparent media opacity cases which when many many examination methods become impossible to use.
